Verification standard
Four documents. No exceptions.
Nothing goes live until every document has been checked by a person. This is what makes the badge worth something to the visitor deciding whether to get in your van.
Expiry dates are stored with each document. When one approaches, you get a reminder; if it lapses, your profile drops out of search until it is renewed.
Valid guide or driver’s licence
Current and unexpired, with the expiry date tracked so re-verification is triggered automatically.
Notarised identity confirmation
Notary stamp and signature confirming the identity documents belong to the applicant.
Vehicle licence & registration
The registration must match the vehicle and plate shown on the public profile.
Current vehicle insurance
Valid cover for the vehicle in use, re-checked at every renewal date.
How the review works
Create your account
Name, contact details and the parish you are based in.
Upload documents
Licence, notarised identity confirmation, vehicle registration and insurance.
Admin review
A GuidesHub reviewer checks each document and its expiry date.
Live on the directory
Approved profiles appear in search with the verified badge.
Documents submitted, awaiting review. Not visible in search.
All four documents approved and current. Visible with the badge.
A document has lapsed. Hidden from search until renewed.
Application
Start your verification
This is what the guide profile captures. Everything except the documents appears publicly once you are approved.
The fields above show what your public profile captures. Verification itself — including the four document uploads — is completed on the sign-in screen.
Still to confirm before launch: exactly what must be notarised and by whom, the re-verification cadence for expiring licences and insurance, and whether guides set their own rates publicly.
Guide FAQ
Does it cost anything to be listed?
No. Verification and listing are free. Any commercial model is still being decided — see the open questions in the build brief.
Can I serve parishes I am not based in?
Yes. You pick one home parish and then every parish you are willing to travel to. Clients can filter on both.
Why can I not use WhatsApp?
Because there is no record if something goes wrong. On-platform chat means reports can be investigated and bad actors removed. It protects you as much as the client.
What happens when my insurance expires?
You get a reminder before the date. If it lapses, your profile is hidden from search — not deleted — until you upload the renewal.
Who can leave a review on my profile?
Only a client who hired you. Reviews are tied to your specific profile and moderated for abuse.
